Evans GP is recruiting a senior No. 1 mechanic to take day-to-day responsibility for the preparation, build quality and trackside operation of an assigned Formula 4 car.

About the role

Evans GP is seeking a Senior Formula 4 No. 1 Mechanic for its single-seater programme based at Sepang International Circuit. The role covers workshop preparation, testing and race-weekend operation across the team's Asian and Middle Eastern Formula 4 calendar.

You will be responsible for the mechanical standard of an assigned car and for delivering safe, accurate and efficient work throughout every phase of an event. The position works directly with the race engineer, other mechanics and team management, and requires disciplined communication as well as strong hands-on ability.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare, build and maintain a Formula 4 car to Evans GP standards.
  • Complete scheduled servicing, lifing, inspections and pre-event checks.
  • Carry out setup changes accurately and record completed work.
  • Lead all mechanical activity on the assigned car during tests and race weekends.
  • Identify faults early, report them clearly and complete reliable repairs under time pressure.
  • Maintain tools, spares, consumables and the assigned working area.
  • Support freight, garage build, loading and event pack-down when required.
  • Help develop junior mechanics through clear instruction and high working standards.

This position suits an experienced race mechanic who takes pride in preparation, consistency and presentation and who understands that reliability begins well before the car reaches the circuit.
