Systems Design Engineer
Design and deliver powertrain-integration and fluid-system components from concept and CAD definition through manufacture and track deployment.
Must have
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Experience in a high-performance motorsport design environment
- Demonstrated expertise in the design and integration of vehicle systems
- Strong knowledge of systems design, engineering materials and manufacturing processes
Preferred
- Siemens NX and Teamcenter experience is advantageous
About the role
Prodrive is seeking a Systems Design Engineer for its Engineering Vehicle Design group. The role provides systems-design expertise across several high-performance motorsport programmes and supports components throughout the complete path from early concept to manufacture and track deployment.
Working with simulation, analysis, manufacturing, suppliers and other internal stakeholders, the engineer will balance performance, weight, cost, reliability and programme timing while maintaining the design definition and Bills of Materials.
- Design components for powertrain integration and fluid systems.
- Collaborate with simulation and analysis engineers to develop and optimise systems.
- Produce concepts and detailed engineering solutions that meet performance, mass and cost targets.
- Deliver CAD assemblies and detailed designs to agreed schedules and budgets.
- Release parts and assembly structures into Bills of Materials.
- Keep Bills of Materials accurate and current throughout the programme lifecycle.
- Consider manufacturing cost and future Bill of Materials cost when making design decisions.
- Support formal design reviews and continuous-improvement work.
- Coordinate with suppliers and multidisciplinary internal teams so designs are robust, manufacturable and delivered to programme requirements.
Requirements

- Demonstrated expertise in the design and integration of vehicle systems.
- Strong knowledge of systems design, engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to take work from concept to manufacture as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent CAD capability; Siemens NX and Teamcenter experience is advantageous.
- Ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions in a fast-moving competition environment.
- Strong interest in motorsport innovation and in the development of future rally and endurance competition vehicles.
