Alpine F1 Team is moving its European Formula 1 logistics vehicles to Enilive HVOlution, a hydrotreated vegetable oil fuel made from renewable feedstocks.

The team says the fuel will be used by vehicles transporting its cars and infrastructure during the European rounds of the championship. Its logistics fleet is due to be equipped to operate exclusively on HVOlution over the coming weeks, with refuelling managed through Enilive’s Multicard system.

A transport change rather than a race-fuel change

The announcement concerns Alpine’s road logistics operation, not the fuel used by its Formula 1 power unit. That distinction matters because moving race cars, garage equipment and hospitality infrastructure between events creates a separate operational demand from running the cars on track.

Enilive says HVOlution is available through a network of more than 1,700 service stations in the main European markets used by the team. The company describes it as a drop-in diesel fuel, meaning compatible vehicles can use it without changes to their engines or the surrounding distribution infrastructure.

The fuel is produced at Enilive’s biorefineries in Venice and Gela. According to the two companies, its feedstocks are mainly waste and residues, including used cooking oil and animal fats. Alpine has not disclosed the number of transporters involved, their expected annual mileage or the volume of fuel it plans to purchase.

The emissions figure is a supplier claim

Enilive reports that its HVO achieved an average 79.5 per cent reduction in carbon-dioxide-equivalent emissions during 2025 when assessed across the full value chain against the reference fossil-fuel mix used by the EU Renewable Energy Directive.

That is a lifecycle comparison supplied by Enilive, not an independently published measurement of Alpine’s logistics emissions. It should not be read as a 79.5 per cent reduction in every journey or as zero emissions at the vehicle exhaust. Actual performance will depend on the feedstock batches, transport routes, vehicle use and the amount of HVO that replaces conventional diesel.

Alpine and Enilive have not published a baseline inventory against which the team’s result can be measured. A future report would need fuel volumes, vehicle kilometres and an agreed accounting boundary to show the operational effect of the switch.

Partnership moves into team operations

The programme expands the relationship between Alpine and Eni, Enilive’s parent company. Eni returned to Formula 1 as Alpine’s official energy and fuel partner in 2025, with the organisations also discussing future development of biofuel for top-level motorsport.

Using the product in the team’s own transport fleet gives the partnership a practical operational component as well as branding and research activity. It also gives Enilive a high-mileage environment in which its distribution network and fleet services can be demonstrated across several countries.

No financial terms, supply volumes or contract extension were announced. The immediate substance is narrower: Alpine intends to replace conventional diesel with renewable HVO for its European race logistics, using fuel and payment infrastructure already operated by its partner.

For motorsport suppliers, the project shows that sustainability agreements are increasingly reaching beyond the competition car. Freight planning, fuel traceability, service-station coverage and lifecycle reporting are becoming part of the package teams need from logistics and energy partners.
