Cosworth has formed a partnership with motorsport software specialist Paceteq to integrate Paceteq ONE TIMING into the Pi Toolbox data-analysis environment.
Cosworth says the planned integration will place timing information and telemetry on the same screen, reducing the need for engineers to compare separate displays. It will also add a Paceteq plugin for iRacing that can combine live or saved channel data with timing-specific display formats.
The companies have not disclosed financial terms, the duration of the agreement or a firm launch date. Cosworth describes the Paceteq integration and iRacing plugin as coming soon, with more detail due when the product launches.
Linking timing and telemetry
Pi Toolbox is Cosworth’s data-analysis software for professional and simulated motorsport. The company says the same analysis engine is used across real-world categories including endurance racing, rallying, Super Formula, touring cars, INDYCAR and international GT competition, as well as by iRacing users.
Paceteq ONE TIMING is designed to process timing information for strategy and performance analysis. Paceteq says its broader platform can combine sources including timing, GPS, video, weather and radio data, although Cosworth’s announcement only confirms the planned ONE TIMING integration in Pi Toolbox.
Bringing the two data sets into one interface can allow channel information to be plotted against telemetry and stored for post-session review. Cosworth has not published a complete specification, supported championship list or licensing model for the combined product, so those details remain unresolved.
Sim-racing plugin also planned
Alongside the professional motorsport integration, a new iRacing Paceteq plugin is planned. Cosworth says the plugin will bring live or saved channel data together with timing-oriented displays.
Pi Toolbox already supports live iRacing telemetry through Cosworth’s Telemetry Converter and can read the simulation platform’s IBT files after a session. The Paceteq work therefore extends an existing analysis workflow rather than replacing it.
The technical announcement appeared within Cosworth’s release confirming its sponsorship of the iRacing Britcar 24 Hour at Silverstone. The event sponsorship itself is a short-term activation; the new software partnership and integration roadmap are the substantive industry developments.
Neither company has said whether Paceteq ONE TIMING will be included in an existing Pi Toolbox licence, sold separately or offered first to selected teams. The next verifiable milestone will be the product launch, when Cosworth says further information will be published.
