LN4 Fusion has been selected to join the FIA Formula 2 Championship from 2027, becoming the only new entrant in the 11-team field approved for the 2027–29 cycle.
Formula 2 has retained ten teams from the 2026 grid: ART Grand Prix, Campos Racing, DAMS, Hitech, Invicta Racing, MP Motorsport, PREMA Racing, Rodin Motorsport, Trident and Van Amersfoort Racing. LN4 Fusion completes the line-up, with every entrant continuing to operate two cars and the championship remaining at 22 entries.
The selection converts LN4 Fusion’s stated intention to apply into a confirmed championship place. The organisation launched in September 2026 after acquiring selected assets from AIX Racing and has programmes planned across Formula 4, Formula Regional, Formula 3 and Formula 2. It is co-founded by Formula 1 driver Lando Norris and Fusion Motorsport.
LN4 Fusion says the Formula 2 entry completes its intended pathway through the principal international junior categories. Its European operation is led by team principal René Rosin, with Guillaume Capietto as racing director. The team has not yet announced its Formula 2 drivers, technical partners, operating budget or car-specific commercial programme.
Formula 2 chief executive Bruno Michel said the promoter received strong interest for the new three-year cycle and selected LN4 Fusion alongside the retained incumbents. The official notices do not disclose the selection criteria, application fee, licence terms or the contractual arrangements surrounding AIX Racing’s departure.
