Andretti Formula E has appointed Campbell Hobson as team principal, with Roger Griffiths moving from the role into a senior advisory position.

Andretti announced the leadership change on 2 October. Hobson joined the organisation in 2017 and has most recently served as the Formula E team's director of strategy and sporting. The team says he will now hold responsibility for its sporting, technical and operational programme.

Griffiths has led Andretti's Formula E operation since it entered the championship in 2014. In the new position he will advise the Formula E team and contribute to the wider TWG Motorsports portfolio, according to the company.

Change arrives at the start of GEN4

The appointment puts a new team principal in place for Formula E's first GEN4 season. Andretti has retained Jake Dennis and Felipe Drugovich as its race drivers, giving Hobson an established driver and engineering group while the team introduces a substantially different car.

The published announcement does not disclose the duration or financial terms of Hobson's appointment, Griffiths' advisory agreement or any changes to the ownership and reporting structure. It also does not identify a replacement for Hobson's previous post.

For Andretti, the transition keeps institutional knowledge inside the organisation rather than separating the outgoing team principal from the programme. Hobson moves up from a role directly involved in strategy and sporting operations, while Griffiths remains available during the technical and organisational changeover.

The team describes the structure as part of a broader effort to strengthen collaboration across TWG Motorsports. That is Andretti's stated objective; no separate operational integrations or shared technical programmes were detailed in the release.
