Inception Racing will switch to the Corvette Z06 GT3.R for the 2027 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The Optimum Motorsport-operated team will enter the number 70 car in the Grand Touring Daytona class. Brendan Iribe and Frederik Schandorff will contest the full season, with Ollie Millroy joining for the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup rounds.

The programme will be Inception’s fifth consecutive full-time IMSA campaign, following selected starts in 2021 and 2022 and a continuous season entry from 2023. The manufacturer change retains the existing driver structure while replacing the team’s GT3 platform.

Inception sporting director Bas Leinders said the team is building relationships with General Motors and Pratt Miller around the new car. Corvette Racing described the entry as an addition to its 2027 customer programme. The announcement does not disclose whether the team is buying or leasing the car, the level of factory engineering support, spare-parts terms or the commercial value of the arrangement.

The Corvette Z06 GT3.R is General Motors’ current global GT3 contender. Adding an established GTD team expands the car’s IMSA representation and gives Inception a different manufacturer and technical support network for its next full season.

The official release confirms the car, class and driver roles but does not name an additional Daytona driver, a test schedule, sponsors or a launch date. MRI has therefore not inferred any changes beyond those stated by the series and team representatives.

The article is linked to Inception Racing’s exact MRI profile. That profile does not currently hold an approved logo, so none has been invented or substituted. No reusable first-party feature-image permission was established and the report is published without an image.
