Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team has appointed Stripe as Official Global Payments Partner and an Official Team Partner under a multi-year agreement covering the team’s commercial operations.
The companies announced the deal on 20 October. Stripe says its technology will be applied across Mercedes’ international payments and financial infrastructure, with the first product deployments due at selected races during the remainder of 2026. The initial rollout will focus on the team’s retail experience.
Mercedes said the operating scope includes multiple markets, currencies and customer touchpoints spanning merchandise, experiences, partner relationships and international transactions. Neither party identified the first circuits involved, the Stripe products selected, implementation milestones, contract value or performance targets.
Stripe branding is scheduled to appear on the Formula 1 cars and other team assets from the opening race of the 2027 season. That timing separates the commercial-rights component from the earlier technology deployment: the payments work begins before the principal car branding.
The agreement is more than a conventional logo placement because the supplier is being used inside the team’s revenue operations. Its significance will depend on which payment flows move to Stripe and whether the implementation reduces friction, reconciliation work or currency complexity. The announcement does not provide baseline figures or promised savings, so MRI has not inferred financial benefits.
For Stripe, the team offers a global reference client across retail and experiential commerce. For Mercedes, a single payments relationship may support consistent customer journeys as its commercial inventory expands across markets, although delivery and data responsibilities have not yet been published.
The report is linked to Mercedes’ exact MRI team profile and approved logo. No feature image has been used because reusable first-party permission was not established.
