NASCAR Truck Series will carry the FedEx Freight name from 2027 under a new long-term entitlement agreement.
The championship will become the NASCAR FedEx Freight Truck Series. FedEx Freight will also become an Official Partner of NASCAR and the sanctioning body’s exclusive freight shipping partner in the United States, Canada and Mexico from 1 January 2027.
NASCAR announced the agreement on 17 September 2026. The parties did not disclose the sponsorship fee, exact term, renewal options or the value of the freight-services component.
Series naming rights and a wider supply agreement
The entitlement places the FedEx Freight name in the official identity of one of NASCAR’s three national series. That creates recurring visibility across event promotion, broadcasts, digital products and championship communications rather than limiting the company to a single team or race.
The exclusive shipping designation extends the agreement beyond media rights. It covers NASCAR’s freight partnership across three North American countries, although the announcement does not publish service volumes, operating targets or which parts of the NASCAR ecosystem will use the carrier.
FedEx Freight says the sponsorship will support brand awareness, customer relationships, employee engagement and business development. Those are the company’s stated goals; no revenue, lead-generation or audience targets have been released.
First major platform for an independent FedEx Freight
NASCAR describes the programme as FedEx Freight’s first sponsorship platform of this scale since becoming an independent publicly traded company. The carrier operates more than 365 locations with about 40,000 employees and nearly 30,000 vehicles, according to the official release.
The partnership therefore arrives while FedEx Freight is establishing a standalone corporate identity. NASCAR provides a national consumer audience alongside business-to-business hospitality and commercial networking, while the series’ truck format gives the sponsor a direct category connection.
The companies say activations will target markets around FedEx Freight distribution locations. They have not named the first markets, events or customer programmes.
The incumbent title will change in 2027
The announcement confirms a new championship name from next season and a broader official-partner relationship. It does not specify how existing series partners will be integrated, whether individual race entitlements will change or how branding will appear on competition vehicles.
The material business development is the combination of national-series naming rights and an exclusive operational-services category. Delivery will become measurable when NASCAR and FedEx Freight disclose the first activations, shipping scope and market programme before the 2027 season.
