The Sports Car Club of America has appointed Jonathan Winker as Director of Information Technology following a multi-month recruitment process.
Winker started the role on 1 October 2026 and reports directly to SCCA president and chief executive Mike Cobb. The organisation announced the appointment on 19 October, after Winker attended the SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Road America during his first week.
The stated remit covers technology strategy and future growth, with the SCCA highlighting Winker’s experience in cybersecurity, network infrastructure, business continuity, disaster recovery and enterprise technology. The release does not disclose the size of the IT team, operating budget, reporting structure below the director, priority systems or a timetable for specific projects.
Winker previously served as Director of Infrastructure and Security for OwnersEdge, a mid-market employee-owned holding company. The SCCA says he has more than 15 years of IT leadership experience across complex technology operations, multi-company environments and security initiatives.
He is also an SCCA competitor and member of the organisation’s Milwaukee Region. Winker co-founded the Resilience Racing Foundation, a nonprofit focused on adaptive motorsport technology and opportunities for disabled veterans. Those links give him direct experience of the club’s participant community as well as corporate infrastructure work.
The appointment is operationally relevant because the SCCA supports membership, event administration, timing, competition information and digital services across a large regional network. The official announcement does not identify a predecessor, name outside technology suppliers or commit to a new platform, so MRI has not inferred a system replacement or investment programme.
Claims about the experience and expected contribution of the new director come from the SCCA. No compensation, contract duration or performance targets were published.
MRI has no exact Sports Car Club of America profile, so no unrelated profile or logo has been attached. No reusable first-party feature-image permission was established and the article is published without an image.
