Red Bull KTM Tech3 has signed Senna Agius for the 2027 MotoGP season, promoting the Australian from Moto2 for his premier-class debut.
The team announced the appointment on 16 September 2026. Agius will partner Luca Marini, completing Tech3’s rider line-up as MotoGP introduces new technical regulations and machinery.
Tech3 pairs youth with experience
Agius will be 21 by the start of the 2027 season. He won the 2023 Moto2 European Championship after finishing runner-up in 2022, then moved into the Moto2 World Championship in 2024.
Tech3 says he has earned multiple Moto2 victories and podiums and was contesting a top-three championship position when the agreement was announced. Those sporting results underpin the promotion, but the team did not disclose the contract length, salary or performance options.
Pairing Agius with Marini gives Tech3 one MotoGP rookie and one experienced premier-class rider for the regulation change. The team says it intends to develop Agius through the transition, while continuing the next phase of its relationship with KTM.
Contract arrives before a major rules reset
The 2027 appointment is more consequential than a routine rider change because every MotoGP team will be adapting to the new technical package at the same time. Tech3 has now fixed its race line-up before that work accelerates.
