Formula 1 and DAZN have extended their media-rights partnership across Spain, Andorra and Portugal until the end of the 2030 season.

The agreement covers live and on-demand coverage of every Formula 1 practice and qualifying session, Sprint and Grand Prix. It also includes Formula 2, Formula 3, F1 Academy and Porsche Supercup.

Broad rights package retained

DAZN will continue to provide analysis, features and original programming alongside the live championship coverage. Formula 1 says the agreement preserves DAZN as its broadcast home across all three markets rather than introducing a new rights holder.

The renewal arrives as Madrid prepares to stage its first Spanish Grand Prix at Madring from 11 to 13 September 2026. Formula 1 has also confirmed that Portimão is due to return to the calendar in 2027.

Formula 1 reports a combined fanbase of 17.9 million people in Spain and Portugal. That audience figure is the championship's own estimate and was not independently audited in the announcement.

Commercial terms remain private

The parties did not disclose the value of the rights, any subscriber targets or how the package is divided between the three territories. They also did not identify changes to production responsibilities or distribution beyond DAZN's existing live and on-demand services.

The extension nevertheless gives Formula 1 distribution continuity in two markets with current or returning Grands Prix and gives DAZN a long-term premium-rights asset through 2030.

The commercial effect will depend on audience growth, subscriber retention and the activation built around the new Madrid event and Portugal's calendar return. Those measures were not included in the release.
