Honda Racing UK has extended its agreement with Ryan Vickers for the 2027 British Superbike Championship, retaining the 27-year-old for a second season on the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP.

The factory team announced the renewal on 1 October. It did not disclose the rider contract's financial terms, option structure or duration beyond the 2027 season.

Continuity follows a race-winning first season

Vickers joined Honda Racing UK at the start of 2026 after competing in the Superbike World Championship. According to the team, its Fireblade development programme made a significant step during the second half of the British season.

He delivered Honda Racing UK's first Superbike podium of the year at Thruxton and then won twice at the same round. Two further victories followed at Cadwell Park, giving the team a clear sporting basis for keeping the rider and technical combination together.

Those results are the team's account of its 2026 progress. The announcement does not publish comparative development data, testing mileage or a technical specification for the 2027 motorcycle.

Honda sets a championship target for 2027

Honda Racing UK says its objective is to win the 2027 British Superbike title. The team plans to continue developing the Fireblade through the remainder of the current season and over the winter, using the experience accumulated with Vickers during their first year together.

Team manager Scot Hargreaves identified Vickers' technical feedback and role in the motorcycle's development as reasons for the renewal. Vickers said the existing relationship and results gave him confidence to continue. MRI has paraphrased those statements rather than reproducing the release's quotations.

The renewal gives the programme continuity in its lead Superbike seat before the winter development period. It also removes one major rider-market decision for Honda Racing UK while rival teams assemble their 2027 line-ups.

The announcement names no second rider, testing schedule, sponsor changes or wider staffing appointments. It also does not confirm whether the 2027 Fireblade package will receive major hardware changes, so those details remain open.

For suppliers and commercial partners, the material development is a confirmed factory-team rider programme for another season, backed by a stated title objective and an established motorcycle development path.

No feature image has been used because reusable first-party permission was not established. MRI has no exact Honda Racing UK business profile, so the article is not attached to a related but different Honda team and no logo has been invented.
