NASCAR Euro Series organiser Team FJ has appointed ORECA as a technical partner for its V8 engine programme.
Under the agreement, ORECA’s engine department in Magny-Cours, France, will validate new and rebuilt EuroNASCAR-specification engines on a dynamometer before they are delivered to teams. The company will also provide dyno analysis to support the championship’s technical inspection process.
The two organisations say they will additionally explore future engine-development projects. They have not announced a replacement powertrain, a timetable for any major specification change or the commercial terms and duration of the partnership.
A new validation stage for spec engines
The immediate change is the addition of independent dyno validation within the series’ engine supply and inspection workflow. A dynamometer can measure output and operating behaviour under controlled conditions, giving the organiser a repeatable data set before an engine enters competition.
For a series built around controlled V8 powertrains, that process can help identify whether new and rebuilt units fall within the intended performance window. ORECA will also support inspections by supplying dyno analysis, which gives officials another technical reference when investigating parity or compliance questions.
NASCAR Euro Series describes the work as an effort to improve parity. That is the organiser’s stated objective rather than an independently measured result. The announcement does not publish the acceptance tolerances, test procedure, correction standard, sealing arrangements or the data that teams will receive.
Those details will determine how the programme operates in practice. The confirmed development is that ORECA will perform the validation and provide analytical support; no evidence has yet been released showing a change in engine-to-engine variation or championship performance.
ORECA adds engine-department capacity
ORECA is best known internationally for prototype design, construction and technical support in endurance racing. Its engine department also serves programmes beyond ORECA-badged chassis, giving Team FJ access to an established motorsport testing operation at Magny-Cours.
For ORECA, the agreement adds a European touring-car championship to its customer work and creates a role that combines routine validation with regulatory support. For Team FJ, it places a specialist external organisation between engine preparation and delivery to competitors.
The companies say work began after the NASCAR GP Czech Republic and the end of the regular season, ahead of the 2026 playoff rounds. The release does not identify the number of engines to be tested each year, whether existing in-service units will be included or how frequently engines will return for revalidation.
Future powertrain work remains open
The partnership also covers exploration of advanced engine-development projects for the championship’s longer-term future. Neither party has defined what those projects involve.
There is no announced next-generation engine specification, production commitment or competition debut date. References to future development should therefore be read as an engineering scope agreed between the parties, not confirmation that a replacement powertrain has been selected.
The next useful evidence will be operational: published testing standards, the treatment of rebuilt engines, the inspection workflow and any measured improvement in consistency. A separate future-powertrain announcement would be needed before teams or suppliers could plan around a new technical package.
