OrangeCat Racing has signed Bobby Fong for the 2027 and 2028 MotoAmerica Superbike seasons, creating a two-rider line-up with Sean Dylan Kelly.
Fong will carry the number one plate on an alpha Racing-prepared BMW M 1000 RR with continued factory support from BMW Motorrad Motorsport. OrangeCat and BMW announced the agreement separately, providing matching details on the term, motorcycle and rider pairing.
The move brings the top two finishers in the 2026 Superbike standings into the same team. Fong won the championship after six race victories, while Kelly finished runner-up with three wins and 13 podiums. Those results were supplied by the team and BMW in their releases.
OrangeCat said the pairing is intended to accelerate development of its Superbike package as the riders work from shared equipment and engineering support. The announcements do not disclose salary, option clauses, performance bonuses, the size of the factory contribution or how technical responsibilities are divided between OrangeCat, alpha Racing and BMW Motorrad Motorsport.
BMW also confirmed that Jayson Uribe is leaving the team. No replacement role or next programme was announced for him. The 2027 MotoAmerica Superbike season is scheduled to begin at Road Atlanta on 16–18 April.
For OrangeCat, the two-year signing turns a strong first campaign with the M 1000 RR into a longer-term rider and manufacturer programme. Claims about championship potential and the expected effect on development come from the team and its manufacturer partner; no independent performance projection has been published.
MRI has no exact OrangeCat Racing business profile, so no unrelated BMW or team profile and no logo have been attached. No reusable first-party feature-image permission was established, so the article is published without an image.
