Red Bull will rejoin Honda HRC Castrol as a major partner from the 2027 MotoGP season under a multi-year agreement.

Honda Racing Corporation announced the deal on 1 October. Red Bull branding will appear on the factory team's motorcycles, garage and rider clothing when MotoGP introduces its next technical era.

Neither company disclosed the duration beyond describing the agreement as multi-year. Financial terms, category rights, hospitality inventory, content commitments and the extent of any technical collaboration were also not published.

A former factory-team relationship is restored

Red Bull previously partnered Honda's factory MotoGP operation from 2015. HRC says that period included 45 race wins and more than 90 podium finishes, alongside riders' and constructors' championships. Those results are the company's summary of the earlier relationship.

The renewed agreement begins as MotoGP moves to 850cc machinery in 2027. Honda frames the partnership as support for its sporting ambitions during the change in regulations, but the announcement identifies Red Bull as a commercial partner rather than an engineering supplier.

The distinction matters because prominent branding and shared activation do not by themselves establish a technical role. HRC did not name components, staff, development programmes or data-sharing arrangements attached to the deal.

Livery and activation details will follow

Honda HRC Castrol plans to reveal its complete 2027 motorcycle and livery before the season. Until then, the confirmed inventory is limited to prominent placement across the machines, garage and rider apparel.

For the team, the agreement adds a global consumer brand to the factory programme at the start of a major rules reset. For Red Bull, it restores a MotoGP relationship with an organisation it already works with across multiple forms of racing.

The deal does not change Honda's ownership of the team, its rider contracts or the championship's technical rules. No performance targets or partner activation schedule were published with the announcement.

The commercial effect will become clearer when the parties disclose the livery, race-market programmes and any media or hospitality plans. At present, the verified development is a multi-year major-partner agreement beginning in 2027.
