Scuderia Ferrari HP and Niterra have renewed and expanded a technical partnership that began in 1996.
The new multi-year agreement retains Niterra as a technical partner of Ferrari’s Formula 1 team and extends the relationship to the manufacturer’s Hypercar programme in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Ferrari did not disclose the agreement’s duration beyond describing it as multi-year, and no financial terms or component volumes were published.
Spark plugs and sensors
Under the renewed Formula 1 arrangement, Niterra’s NGK brand will continue to supply spark plugs. Its NTK brand will join the collaboration for the first time by providing oxygen sensors.
That gives the relationship a broader technical scope than the previous spark-plug supply alone. Ferrari has not identified the precise sensor specification, the systems in which the components will be used or any performance targets attached to the expanded work.
Niterra specialises in ignition and sensor technologies alongside its technical-ceramics activities. Ferrari describes Formula 1 and endurance racing as demanding proving grounds for the company’s components, where reliability is tested under severe operating conditions. That is the partners’ stated rationale; the announcement does not provide test results or a route from racing development into road-car products.
Expansion into endurance racing
Niterra will also become an official partner of Ferrari Hypercar, which competes in the FIA WEC. The announcement confirms the commercial relationship but does not state whether the WEC programme will use the same NGK and NTK components supplied to the Formula 1 team.
The endurance extension places the supplier across Ferrari’s two highest-profile international factory racing programmes. It also creates two development environments with different duty cycles: Formula 1’s shorter, high-intensity running and the extended operation required in endurance competition.
For Ferrari, the renewal preserves a technical relationship approaching three decades while adding a new sensor supplier and a second championship platform. For Niterra, it broadens the visibility and potential development scope of its motorsport work.
The companies have not published engineering data, commercial value or a precise contract end date. The confirmed changes are the addition of NTK oxygen sensors to the Formula 1 collaboration and Niterra’s new official-partner status with Ferrari Hypercar.
