Garmin/MyLaps has introduced an integrated in-car flagging package that connects the Garmin Catalyst 2 driving-performance device to the MYLAPS X2 RaceLink Club system.
Garmin announced the product on 22 September 2026. At circuits using compatible MYLAPS race-control technology, personal and track flag signals can be sent from race control to the vehicle and displayed on the Catalyst 2's three-inch screen.
The connection requires the Catalyst 2, an X2 RaceLink Club unit and Garmin's In-car Flagging Y-cable. It is not a software-only update for every Catalyst user, and compatibility depends on the circuit or organiser operating the MYLAPS system.
First product integration since the acquisition
Garmin says this is the first MYLAPS integration in its motorsports product range since acquiring the timing and tracking company in 2025.
The product combines two previously separate functions. Catalyst 2 provides GPS-based coaching and session analysis, while X2 RaceLink Club receives live flag information and vehicle-position data within a compatible race-control environment. The cable allows the flag output to use the Garmin display instead of requiring drivers to monitor a separate indicator.
Garmin says the X2 RaceLink Club element includes a one-year service plan. The company is also selling a package containing the RaceLink unit, Catalyst 2, Y-cable and cage mount at a suggested US retail price of $1,699.99.
That price is a manufacturer recommendation rather than a guaranteed transaction price. The official announcement does not publish regional pricing, renewal cost after the included service year, installation charges or organiser-side infrastructure costs.
Adoption depends on circuits and race organisers
The technical integration can shorten the path between race control and the driver, particularly when visibility, weather or recovery activity makes trackside flags harder to see. Garmin presents faster awareness as the product benefit, but the release does not publish independent response-time testing or safety certification results.
Race organisers still control whether the device is permitted and whether their venue supplies the necessary MYLAPS race-control service. Garmin tells buyers to confirm compliance and compatibility with the relevant series or circuit.
For circuit operators, the launch creates a possible additional reason to deploy or extend MYLAPS race-control infrastructure. For competitors, it packages coaching, data review and live flag display into one screen. For Garmin, it is the first visible example of combining its motorsport hardware with the timing business acquired the previous year.
