Genesis Magma Racing will retain its six-driver group for the 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship.

André Lotterer, Pipo Derani, Mathys Jaubert, Mathieu Jaminet, Paul-Loup Chatin and Daniel Juncadella are set to remain with the two-car GMR-001 Hypercar programme for its second WEC season. Genesis has not yet confirmed how the six drivers will be divided between the number 17 and number 19 crews.

The decision prioritises continuity after the manufacturer’s first year in the Hypercar class. Genesis said the retained drivers’ knowledge of the GMR-001 and their working relationships with the technical team were central to the choice.

During the debut campaign, the number 17 crew of Lotterer, Derani and Jaubert scored points at Spa-Francorchamps and improved its result in Texas, while Jaubert took the programme’s first pole position at Barcelona. The sister number 19 car has been shared by Jaminet, Chatin and Juncadella.

Keeping the entire group reduces sporting change while the team continues to develop a new prototype and operating organisation. The announcement does not disclose contract lengths, option terms, compensation, testing allocations or whether reserve and development drivers will be added.

Team principal Cyril Abiteboul and sporting director Gabriele Tarquini said the drivers’ collaboration and technical feedback had supported the project’s progress. Those performance assessments come from Genesis; the release provides no independent comparison of development rate or 2027 competitiveness.
