TGR Haas F1 Team has confirmed that Rafael Câmara will make his Formula 1 race debut at the São Paulo Grand Prix on 6–8 November, replacing Esteban Ocon alongside Oliver Bearman.
The team said on 4 November that Ocon will not race again during the 2026 season. Team principal Ayao Komatsu described the circumstances around that decision as an internal matter, and Haas did not disclose a further contractual or medical explanation. MRI has therefore reported the confirmed driver change without assigning a cause that the team has not published.
Câmara, 21, leads the FIA Formula 2 standings and has been part of the Ferrari Driver Academy since 2021. He completed a Haas Testing of Previous Cars outing at Portimão in August, giving him experience of the team’s procedures before the planned Brazil debut.
The announcement changes Haas’s immediate competition operation for the closing rounds of 2026. It does not state whether Câmara will complete the full remainder of the season, whether another driver will appear at a later event or how the decision affects the team’s 2027 line-up. MRI has not extended the official statement beyond São Paulo and the confirmation that Ocon will not return this year.
MRI compared the official and canonical URLs, headline, team, Ocon, Câmara and event date against its existing news. The item is distinct from the September report that Ocon and Haas would separate after 2026 and the October update in which Ryo Hirakawa replaced him for the remainder of the Mexico weekend.
