Tata Consultancy Services has signed a multi-year extension of its title partnership with Jaguar TCS Racing and will take an expanded role as the Formula E team's Official AI Partner.
TCS announced the agreement on 23 September 2026. The companies did not disclose the term beyond describing it as multi-year, and no financial value was published.
The renewal carries an existing title relationship into Formula E's GEN4 regulations. TCS says the added AI brief will examine efficiencies across racing operations and engineering, while producing insights that could support future Jaguar electric vehicles.
Title rights continue into GEN4
TCS became Jaguar Racing's title partner in 2021. The renewed agreement preserves that position rather than replacing it with a new team identity, while the Official AI Partner designation gives the technology company a defined additional category.
For Jaguar, the deal provides continuity with a partner already embedded in the team's data and digital work as the technical platform changes. For TCS, Formula E remains both a global sponsorship property and a live engineering environment in which it can demonstrate technology services.
The official release links the partnership to simulation, data analysis and performance optimisation developed during the previous five years. It does not identify a specific AI model, software platform, supplier contract, intellectual-property arrangement or deployment timetable for the expanded work.
That distinction matters. TCS and Jaguar describe AI as a route to operational and engineering efficiency, but they have not published measured performance targets or confirmed which race-team decisions will use automated systems. The announcement should therefore be read as a contracted programme scope, not evidence that a particular tool has already improved lap time or road-car development.
Race-to-road work remains a stated objective
TCS says the collaboration will generate insights for next-generation Jaguar electric vehicles. That is a company objective; the release does not name a production model, component, launch date or quantified technology transfer.
The Formula E programme can expose software and analysis methods to compressed development cycles, changing track conditions and energy-management decisions. Converting those lessons into road-car value still requires separate validation, product engineering and regulatory work.
The commercial significance is the combination of long-term title rights with a broader technology remit. The agreement gives TCS visibility on the car and team while creating an engineering programme it can use in client and product communications.
The material facts confirmed on 23 September are the multi-year renewal, continued title position and new Official AI Partner role. Contract value, exact duration, technical deliverables and performance measures remain undisclosed.
