How the network separates public business information from private contributor and commercial contact data.
Information we collect
Submission, claim, rating, checkout and contact forms collect the information you provide, including your name, email address, company, role and message. Business profiles may contain public company information obtained from official sources or supplied by authorised representatives.
Account sign-in
When you choose Continue with Google, Google confirms your account identifier, verified email address and profile name. When you request an email sign-in link, our shared authentication provider sends a one-time link to verify that you control the address. We use the verified email to connect you to existing claims, storefronts, jobs and private account records. Your private calendar is stored once against that verified email and is available to you on both Motor Racing Industry and Motorsport Staff; existing events are merged the first time the shared calendar opens. We never receive a Google or email password. An essential signed session cookie keeps you signed in for up to seven days.
How it is used
We use submitted information to review directory records, verify ownership and comments, process featured-listing purchases, respond to enquiries, prevent abuse and improve data quality. Private contributor and billing details are not published on business profiles.
Talent profiles
Current talent profiles come from candidates who deliberately publish them through Motorsport Staff. Clearly marked legacy listings may retain the professional summary, employment and education history, skills, public professional links and verified profile photo that a candidate published in the original Motorsport Staff résumé directory. Signed-in businesses with an active Featured listing can download a PDF generated from the same candidate-shared professional information shown on an eligible profile and can view a direct email address only when that candidate has enabled employer contact. The generated PDF excludes private account details, email addresses, phone numbers and street addresses; original uploaded résumé files are not exposed. Candidates can change sharing choices or request correction or removal. Fictional student examples are labelled as samples, contain no real identity or contact details, and cannot be contacted, shortlisted or downloaded.
Marketplace data
Seller store and product submissions are linked to the approved business owner account. Public storefronts may show a customer-support email, shipping coverage and returns policy supplied for publication. Seller account identity, moderation history, basket ownership and future order records remain private. A basket does not create an order or payment.
Cookies and analytics
Essential cookies support secure Google and email-link sign-in, claims, billing and account protection. If you actively consent, Google Analytics 4 records anonymous usage events so we can understand which directory, jobs and talent features are useful and measure journeys between Motor Racing Industry and Motorsport Staff. Advertising signals are disabled. We do not send names, emails, messages, search terms, private account details or talent-profile content to Google Analytics. You can reject or withdraw analytics permission through Cookie settings.
Payments
Featured-listing payments are processed by Stripe. The directory records order and subscription references but does not receive or store full payment-card details. Stripe applies its own privacy and security terms to checkout. Marketplace product Checkout and seller payouts remain disabled until the separate transaction release is verified.
Ratings and moderation
A reviewer’s display name, rating and approved comment may be published. Their email remains private and is used only for verification, moderation and abuse prevention. Rejected or disputed comments may be retained while a moderation decision is documented.
Accuracy and corrections
Businesses and individuals may request corrections to inaccurate public information. Evidence may be requested where a change affects ownership, identity or the status of a business.
Retention and contact
Review, basket and order records are retained only while needed for directory operations, accountability and legal obligations. Privacy questions can be sent to directory@motorracingindustry.com.
