Meyer Shank Racing has signed Mick Schumacher to drive its No. 66 Honda in the 2027 NTT IndyCar Series season.
The move completes the team’s two-car line-up, with Marcus Armstrong continuing in the No. 60 Honda. Contract length and financial terms were not disclosed.
A second IndyCar team for Schumacher
Schumacher joined Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing for his first full IndyCar campaign in 2026 after competing in Formula 1 and the FIA World Endurance Championship.
INDYCAR’s official announcement says he qualified fourth at Phoenix and in the second Milwaukee race, and recorded a season-best eighth place at Nashville. It also identifies him as the 2026 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year after he completed all 200 laps on his debut.
Those results are the series’ summary of his first campaign. The release does not set performance targets for 2027 or explain how the No. 66 engineering group will be structured around the change.
ENVE Composites joins the programme
The announcement also confirms that ENVE Composites will join Meyer Shank Racing in 2027. The Utah-based advanced-materials company designs and manufactures carbon-fibre bicycles, wheels and components and has recently established ENVE Motorsports programmes in USF2000 and Indy NXT.
MSR has not disclosed whether ENVE will provide technical components to the IndyCar operation, how its branding will be used or the commercial duration of the relationship. It should therefore be treated as a newly announced team partnership rather than a defined engineering supply agreement.
For Meyer Shank Racing, the combined announcement provides driver continuity in one car, a new driver in the other and an additional commercial partner before the 2027 season. Schumacher’s adaptation to the team and ENVE’s practical role will become clearer once testing and programme details are published.
