NHRA has appointed Mitutoyo America Corporation as its official precision measurement partner for the 2027, 2028 and 2029 racing seasons.
The agreement gives Mitutoyo access to NHRA teams, manufacturers, commercial partners and fans while providing the sanctioning body with an industry partner specialising in metrology, calibration, measurement software and technical education.
Mitutoyo and NHRA say the programme will include educational experiences for students, skilled tradespeople and manufacturing professionals. The intended focus is on how dimensional inspection, tolerance verification and calibration contribute to manufacturing quality, component consistency and safety in drag-racing applications.
The parties have not announced a specific measurement-equipment supply list, technical-inspection mandate, team subsidy, trackside laboratory, curriculum, activation calendar or performance metric. MRI has therefore not inferred that Mitutoyo will replace NHRA scrutineering equipment or become a mandatory supplier to competitors.
Mitutoyo’s official release also links the partnership to NHRA’s planned 2027 media distribution across Fox Sports, The CW Network and FloSports. The companies say that exposure is expected to broaden the audience for both drag racing and precision measurement, but no sponsorship value or audience guarantee was disclosed.
The three-season term makes the announcement more than a single-event promotion. It creates a commercial and workforce-development platform connecting an engineering supplier with a national sanctioning body and its manufacturing community.
MRI compared the NHRA and Mitutoyo source URLs, canonical forms, headlines, organisations, partnership role and 4 November event date against existing MRI news. No duplicate or near-duplicate article was found.
MRI has no exact Mitutoyo America profile, so the report is linked to NHRA’s exact directory profile rather than an approximate supplier. That profile has no approved official logo. No first-party feature image was used because reusable publication permission was not established.
