MotoGP has launched a global Academy programme that will accredit racing schools and training institutions meeting standards set by the championship promoter.
The rights holder announced the initiative on 21 October as a new part of the Road to MotoGP development structure. It said approved organisations will operate under names reflecting their nation, region or continent, with more than one academy possible in larger markets.
Applicants will be assessed across infrastructure, training methodology, technical execution and brand visibility. MotoGP did not publish the detailed scoring framework, application fee, accreditation term, audit timetable or minimum staffing requirements, so MRI has not inferred how many existing schools are immediately eligible.
The commercial and operational offer extends beyond use of the Academy name. MotoGP says it will invest directly in approved branches and provide toolkits, activation support, branding resources and exclusive product discounts. The announcement does not identify the investment available to each site, the participating suppliers or whether support will be cash, services or equipment.
The programme is intended to expand structured rider development in countries and regions where access to professional motorcycle racing is limited. MotoGP says local academies will combine global standards with regional knowledge, allowing coaching and recruitment to be adapted to local conditions while remaining connected to the championship's development pathway.
For established schools, the accreditation could provide a recognised quality mark and closer access to MotoGP's talent system. For the promoter, a distributed academy network can widen the future rider pool and create earlier relationships with training operators, circuits, coaches and families. Those potential benefits are strategic implications; the launch release does not promise graduates a place in a Road to MotoGP series.
Prospective operators have been directed to contact the Academy programme by email. MotoGP has not yet named the first accredited schools, target countries, opening dates or a planned network size. Those disclosures will be needed to measure how quickly the concept moves from applications to active training capacity.
MRI found no exact MotoGP Academy directory profile and has not attached an unrelated profile or logo. No first-party image with clear reuse permission was identified, so the report is published without a feature image.
