Öhlins Racing has become the official damper supplier to Audi Revolut F1 Team, formalising a technical relationship that was already supporting the manufacturer’s first Formula 1 season.

The agreement builds on a joint development programme covering the engineering, testing and refinement of damper performance. Both companies describe the programme as preceding Audi’s championship debut in March 2026, although neither release gives a start date, test mileage or development schedule.

Dampers control suspension movement and are part of the mechanical platform used to manage a racing car’s behaviour. The suppliers have not published component specifications, adjustment ranges, materials, manufacturing volumes or the precise division of design responsibility. MRI has therefore not inferred a particular vehicle-performance gain from the appointment.

Öhlins says its competition history with Audi stretches back more than two decades. Its official account identifies damper supply for several generations of Audi’s Le Mans prototypes between 1999 and 2016 and for the Audi A4 DTM introduced in 2004. The current Formula 1 agreement is a new supplier designation rather than the companies’ first technical collaboration.

The suspension specialist has been part of Brembo Group since 2025. Audi and Öhlins also plan to show supporters more of the engineering behind the dampers and their role in a Formula 1 car, but they have not published a content schedule or described what technical information will be released.

Commercial terms, contract duration, exclusivity, staffing and intellectual-property arrangements were not disclosed. The announcements also do not state whether Öhlins supplies every damper component, how many units are produced or whether the programme extends to Audi’s other racing activities.

This item is published as a materially important late-indexed technical-supplier update. Its 15 October announcement date falls outside MRI’s normal seven-day window, but the first-party agreement remained absent from the news archive after checks of the source URL, canonical URL, headline, businesses, named entities and event date.

The article is linked to Öhlins Racing’s exact verified and featured MRI profile and uses the approved official logo held there. No reusable first-party feature-image permission was established, so the article is published without an image.
