Oracle Red Bull Racing has agreed a long-term contract extension with chief executive and team principal Laurent Mekies through 2031.

The Formula 1 team announced the agreement on 14 October 2026. Red Bull did not disclose financial terms, performance clauses or the date on which the new contract supersedes Mekies’ previous arrangement.

Extension secures leadership across the next rules cycle

Mekies became Oracle Red Bull Racing CEO and team principal in July 2025. He had returned to the Red Bull organisation in 2024 to lead Racing Bulls after earlier senior roles with Minardi, Toro Rosso, the FIA and Ferrari.

The 2031 term takes the leadership agreement well beyond the opening phase of Formula 1’s current technical cycle. Red Bull said the decision forms part of a longer-term platform that also includes recent driver renewals and appointments to its 2027 personnel group.

The company presented continuity as the reason for the extension and identified the technical groups led by Pierre Waché and Ben Hodgkinson as central to its future programme. The announcement does not change their job titles or disclose separate contract terms.

Contract keeps sporting and corporate authority aligned

Mekies holds both chief executive and team principal responsibilities, so the renewal covers the organisation’s corporate leadership and race-team management under one executive.

That structure gives partners, staff and suppliers a defined leadership horizon while Red Bull operates its own Formula 1 power-unit programme. It does not guarantee sporting results, and MRI has not treated the team’s recent race performance or its description of future ambition as a forecast.

The verified development is the contract term through 2031. The article is connected to Red Bull Racing’s exact MRI profile and retains its existing approved profile logo. No feature image has been used because reusable first-party permission was not established.
